Nikki Nolan is a Senior Product Designer, currently working at RealtyShares, an online real estate platform that has raised $500M+ for 1000+ real estate deals in 39 states. Over the past eleven years in digital media, she has worked on a wide variety of projects, ranging from enterprise-level websites and products to digital interactive art installations for galleries and museums. Previously she was the Manager of Digital Experience at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco; earlier, she was the lead web producer at the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment in New York.
Nikki received her master’s degree in interactive media at Pratt Institute, where she explored the immediacy of online videos and photos and their effects on human memory. Before studying at Pratt, she received a bachelor of fine arts degree in sculpture and photography and a certificate in web development. She has a fascination with computer sensors, 3-D printing and the science of light.
Nikki had her first taste of creative entrepreneurship when she was just 11 years old. After taking all her parents’ bed sheets and turning the backyard into a haunted house, she realized she could make a profit by charging an entrance fee to kids in the neighborhood on Halloween.
